Our PSA Sir Galahad Mercury Analyser has staked its claim as the industry standard for mercury measurements in natural gas streams, conforming to the ISO 6978 and ASTM 6350 methods in natural gas streams having integrated vapour generation and atomic fluorescence detection into a single unit for maximum sensitivity. They can also be linked to separation techniques to provide speciation profiles of the elements in the sample matrix.
On-Line mercury analysis in stack gases :-
Systems have also been designed and installed to measure mercury and speciate mercury in the exhausts of coal-fired utility stacks. A robust inertial probe system is used to transfer the stack gases through a series of conditioners so that representative sample streams are presented to the Sir Galahad for measurement. A unique calibration source, traceable to NIST standards has been developed; this source both checks the stability of the instrument calibration and also confirms the integrity of the sample measurement. These units have been installed to monitor mercury removal systems in addition to stack emissions.
On-line mercury analysis in air :-
Concern over mercury levels in the atmosphere within Europe have led to the setting up of country wide mercury in air programs. Similarly throughout the world atmospheric air monitoring of mercury is becoming more in demand. The PSA online mercury analyser is ideal for this application with its multi stream capability, self calibration with validation, coupled with alarm sensors and full remote data output in optional formats.
Mercury in liquid Hydrocarbons and gasoline:-
The PSA 10.515 has been developed as a specific accessory for the Sir Galahad instrument. This system vaporises the condensate sample into an argon stream over a heated Amasil® trap. The mercury and mercury compounds are retained in the trap and the hydrocarbons vented to waste. The mercury levels are quantified by transferring them via a clean argon stream to the Sir Galahad for analysis. The system can be operated as a discrete analyser in conjunction with the Sir Galahad an automated system, or a fully automated online system.
The Millennium Merlin system for determination of mercury down to ultra low levels :-
The Millennium Merlin is a fully automated system for determining mercury in a range from 100 ppq to 10 ppm in a wide range of samples coupling vapourgeneration with atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The Millennium Merlin can be used as a manually operated system or as an automated system using one of the PSA range of autosamplers, operating under PSA’s Millennium software. The software co-ordinatethe individual modules of the system to control sampling, performs analysis, collects of data, calculates of results and prepares and collates reports.
